Wildlife Coordinator I

Description:The Wildlife Academy Coordinator is responsible for guiding safari tours, nursery tours, and animal shows for Nemacolin guests and communicating accurate knowledge regarding the animals on property. In addition, this individual assists with the care of a variety of animals and maintains the equestrian facilities as well as the sled dog kennels. The Wildlife Academy Coordinator guides trails and pony rides, performs barn maintenance duties, and assists with various grooming and feeding responsibilities. He or she is also required to administer basic medical treatment and update animal records in an accurate and timely manner.
Duties:Guide trails, escort children on pony rides
Safely and effectively handle horses in any situation.

Assist with all aspects of barn work and maintenance.

Miscellaneous barn chores (clipping, bathing, laundry, etc.)

Administer medical treatment to horses.

Groom and tack horses (driving and riding).

Assist with am and pm feedings for exotic animals, dogs and horses.

Trail maintenance.

Assist guests with mounting and dismounting.

Check and adjust stirrups and girths each ride.

Daily safety check of all tack.

Daily check of all animals.

Bathing of exotic animals, dogs and horses.

Cleaning of tack and miscellaneous equipment.

Putting equipment away in its place.
Qualifications:Competent, experienced rider and handler.

Experienced and comfortable with trail rides and the dangers; comfortable and friendly with guests; knowledgeable about horses, riding and driving; knowledgeable about the history of the resort; team player; open communicator.

Must be able to speak English.
