Golf Shop Consultant

Description:As a member of the Golf Operations team, the Golf Shop Consultant will be responsible for performing daily activities at each pro shop (Mystic Rock and The Nike Shop at The Links), to include cash handling, tee times, special events, outings, guest questions/comments, rental club procedure, daily inventory, cleanliness and most importantly, sales. This includes meeting or exceeding our established standards for associate satisfaction, guest satisfaction (Five Star, Five Diamond service), sales and financial performance. As a Golf Shop Consultant, you must act professional at all times, adhere to the resort�s standard operating procedures, and perform superior guest services.
Duties:�Performing all micros sales transactions for golf shop(s).

�Responsible for safeguarding, balancing a bank, and the daily revenue generated at either pro shop in accordance with applicable procedures and policies.

�Taking guests� reservations in person and/or by phone using Fore! tee sheet.

�Having knowledge of available merchandise, course conditions, rates, hours of operations for golf ops as well as all outlets throughout the resort.

�Having knowledge of 2000 acre resort in regards to giving directions to guests.

�Assisting with tournament operations as needed.

�Assisting with outside operations as needed to include Caddiemaster.

�Communicating with golf ops staff and turfgrass staff professionally and clearly using our hand-held two-way radios.

�Communicating effectively with all departments throughout the resort.
Qualifications:�Highschool diploma required. College or university degree preferred. 1-2 years retail experience, not necessarily golf specific.

�Do not have to be affiliated with the PGA, but being a member of the PGA or working towards becoming a PGA member is a plus.

�Ability to read, analyze and interpret general trade and business periodicals.

�Able to be culturally sensitive and effective in a multi-cultural setting.

�Ability to work weekends/holidays, days or nights with flexible hours.

�Valid driver�s license.

�Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks or hears. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

�Ability to learn Fore! tee sheet and our POS System (Micros).

�Ability to speak professionally to guests, around guests and likewise with all departments at the resort.

�Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking guests or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
